P2/3 Blog 2!

Term 2 is over for Primary 2/3! Have a look below at some of our learning this term and some other exciting activities!

We had a visit from Sam who taught us some skills about basic Judo! We learned some of the traditional Japanese words as well as Judo moves!

In Maths, we finished learning about numbers to 100 and started learning our number bonds to 20. We wrote on the big board all the different ways we could make 20!

We had another week of Beat That Big Maths and some of us even managed to beat our score from last week!

P2/3's First Blog!

P2/3 have had a very busy few weeks back to school after the summer holidays! Have a wee look below to see what has been keeping us busy!

We completed the Co-ordinate hunt during Maths week!!

Some eagle eyes spotted one of our clues in the infant playground!

Listening carefully to our instructions for Mathletics!

You can't tell from the picture but Mathletics involved lots of number work! It got our brains and our bodies moving!

Number sorting!

Using our Beat That Big Maths booklets for the first time!

Learning about primary colours!

Mixing our primary colours to help us learn the secondary colours!

Making name collages to help Miss Hampson remember them!

Hand painting for our time capsule! I wonder if our hands will have grown when we check back in a year!

Letter Hunt!

Check back here in 2 weeks for another P2/3 update!

First P3 Blog !

Welcome to Primary 3 with Miss Mckenzie

We have had a fantastic start to P3 and have settled into our new class very well. The class have been working hard on their novel study "The Lighthouse Keepers Lunch" and are now starting a new topic which is "The Vikings". The children have really enjoyed all of the new fun maths games we have and also spending some time in our quiet classroom reading corner. As a class we created a fantastic class charter based on our rights and responsibilities which help remind us of the classroom rules. P3 want everyone to know about their new class pet "Sammy the Clammy who we have been taking very good care of. Sammy likes a quiet class so we are trying to work a little quieter for her.

For our novel study "The Lighthouse Keeper's Lunch", P3 had a great time making sandwiches for Mr Grinling! We chose healthy fillings and talked lots about what kinds of foods are good for us. The children also had lots of discussion around halves and quarters when deciding how they would like to cut their sandwich.

This week was maths week where we have taken part in lots of exciting challenges. The children also challenged themselves with a new (and very tricky) maths game! This took lots of patience and team work. Well done P3! The class have really enjoyed Friday's "Big Maths Beat That's" and everyone improved their score this week from last!
