Mouldy Bread

P4a have been learning about different types of microbes in science. We conducted an experiment where we rubbed our hands on a piece of bread, then we washed our hands and rubbed a second piece of bread. Both slices were stored in an airtight bag and checked regularly. Most children were surprised to see that the bread rubbed by the newly washed hands actually grew more mould!

Measuring

In maths, P4a have been learning to measure length. The children enjoyed lots of practical activities such as measuring classroom objects, measuring each other and using the gym hall to measure longer distances with metre sticks.

Electricity

P4a have been enjoying learning about electricity in science! This week, the children worked in groups to build a circuit to power a light bulb. It took a few attempts and caused some frustration but everyone got there in the end 😀

Pantomime

P4a had a wonderful time visiting the King’s Theatre in Glasgow to watch Aladdin!
